Small Language School Consultancy
because small is always beautiful.
Are you a small language school owner?
Small is beautiful! You know your leaners, their families, your teachers and probably their families too!
Everyone is happy but YOU are stretched in every direction because you think BIG!
You want to implement a new curriculum, you need to rewrite assessment tasks to fit in with the new course book you’ve chosen, you want to offer your students a new exam but you need to find the syllabus and write it for the teachers.
And you need to observe the teachers, plan the end of term party for the different levels – you have a lot (too much) going on …
A busy school owner with a huge to-do list?
Are you a teacher (the only teacher)?
Or are you a teacher who has recently been promoted (Congrats!) but you’re not sure what to do?
Sure, there are plenty of resources and materials online to help you, but time isn’t really something you have a lot of.
And we all know how may rabbit holes there are online.
I can help you because I’ve actually done what you’re trying to do.
My Small Language School Consultancy service is for especially for smaller schools that want to sparkle more!

Niki has been working with Activate Learning on a freelance basis since 2019. In that time Niki has been a key contributor to the work we have done with a private International Primary school in India.
Niki has delivered projects in curriculum development, teacher training and development, and classroom teaching. Niki has supported Activate Learning International in the wider consultation to this school providing expertise and advice that the school leadership has taken on as part of their overarching strategy development.
Niki is very easy to work with; she consistently demonstrates an awareness of the key issues facing international educators and is solutions focussed.

Only Small Language schools?
Hmmm, well, I think larger schools probably have their own tiers of management. It’s different with small schools. You are unique. You aren’t part of a chain. You’re on your own. It’s personal!
I particularly enjoy and have more to give to schools that are individual in this way. And this is where most of my experience lies.

Overall, I think the sessions have provided us with different perspectives on teaching and lesson planning and have opened the door for learning and growing as teachers, mentors and as a school. I’m looking forward to our future sessions.

How does the consualtancy work?
We start with a needs analysis. No one knows your school like you do, and no two schools are the same.
We’ll set goals and create an action plan, which is tailored to you, your teachers, your materials.
It’s all about you and your school.
Our action plan can include:
Teacher observation – including pre=observation call and feedback.
Input sessions for your teachers.
Bespoke materials for your classes.
Curriculum design.
It could be a mixture of the above, or just one aspect, or maybe you have something else you need a hand with.
Have you got a minute?
Hear me talk about my Small Language School Consultancy in this video I made for teachers at a school in Portugal.
I wanted everyone to clearly understand what we were doing and why.
